American Government CLEP Test Description
The American Government CLEP test covers the information that is taught in one semester introductory course at the college level in government and/politics. This CLEP test focuses mainly on national government. This test includes topics such as institutions, the history and formation of the government, federal government, the creation and contents of the constitution, the supreme court and civil liberties.

It is important to understand that you do not have to answer each and every question correct to get a passing score. You need to get 50 of 100 correct (in most cases) to pass. The people the write that CLEP tests want you to know about half of the information to get a passing score.

You will need to know the politics and organization about the government and understand the political process. You will also need to know how to read charts and graphs.
