How
many questions are on the DANTES test and what score do I have to get
to pass?
Some schools have deviated from this scoring sheet
and have their own policy of WHAT score is passing. Finally, double check
with your academic advisor to make sure you actually NEED that type of
credit. For example, some schools may count English Literature as a communication
art while another will count that test as general education, while another
will count that same test for an elective or interdisciplinary. Your academic
advisor can be a great source of information about DANTES. If you attend
a public school, chances are your academic advisor will have little if
no experience with this under publicized information. In that case, send
them to this web site!
Those tests below listed with a score and then /400 are the
tests that have been recently updated. If you take the new version of
the DSST test then you will need to get the new score which is 400. There
are not more test questions on the new test but the grading is different.
You are given more points for harder questions and then the test is averaged
out to make your score. Don't worry, our study guides have been revised
to include the new information on the revised test.
The current fee for a DANTES test is $80 plus any applicable
testing center fee.
