Precalculus CLEP

Precalculus CLEP Test Description
The Precalculus CLEP test covers the information that is taught in the one semester college course in Precalculus. This is the 2nd to last level of math that you can CLEP out of. If you have a difficult time at math or have limited experience, you would be better advised to start with College Mathematics (always check with your advisor to see what CLEP you need to take).

You will be tested on linear, quadratic, square root, polynomial, rational, exponential, absolute value, logarithmic, inverse trigonometric principles and problems. This test is broken up into two sections. Section 1 is 23 questions in 50 minutes. You will be able to use a online graphing calculator for this section. Section 2 contains 23 questions to be answered in 40 minutes. There will NOT be a calculator for this section of the test. Most questions are multiple choice however, there may be some questions that require you to enter a single answer, for example, 7.

It is important to understand that you do not have to answer each and every question correct to get a passing score. You need to get 50 of 100 correct (in most cases) to pass. The people the write the CLEP tests want you to know about half of the information to get a passing score.
